Rodney Allen Hospitalized after Motorcycle Crash in Twentynine Palms

U.S Marine, Rodney Allen, Seriously Injured in Twentynine Palms Motorcycle Accident on Lear Avenue near Two Mile Road

Twentynine Palms, California (August 27, 2019) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after colliding with a car Sunday afternoon in Twentynine Palms, authorities said.

22-year-old Rodney Allen, a corporal with Combat Logistics Battalion-7 on the Twentynine Palms Marine Base, was involved in an accident that happened at about 2:15 p.m. on southbound Lear Avenue near Two Mile Road.

According to officers, Allen was riding a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle when he attempted to pass a 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven southbound on Lear Avenue by 49-year-old Patricia Knight.

As Allen passed the car, Knight made a left-hand turn onto Two Mile Road prompting a crash with the motorcycle.

Allen sustained major injuries and was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.

The incident is under an active investigation by the Sheriff’s Morongo Basin Station Major Accident Investigation Team.
