Richard Ruiz ID’d as Man Killed in Kingsburg Train Accident near Simpson and Sierra Streets
Kingsburg, California (August 23, 2019) – The man who was killed on Wednesday, August 21, after his car was struck by a train in Kingsburg has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Richard Ruiz,65.
The collision took place near the area of Simpson and Sierra streets.
According to the authorities, Ruiz attempted to beat the train across the tracks when his car was hit by the train.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers said alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash.
