Man Dies in Angeles National Forest Motorcycle Accident on Highway 39
Angeles National Forest, California (August 16, 2019) – A man was killed and another was injured in a motorcycle crash in the Angeles National Forest. The fatal accident occurred just after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14 on Highway 39, just north of mile marker 35.68.
Authorities said a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound on Highway 39 at an unknown speed when it failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the northbound lane, where it struck a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling at around 25 mph.
The motorcyclist, Michael Nuke, 46, of Norwalk, was thrown from his bike upon the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene at about 12:04 p.m.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 66-year-old Upland man, suffered minor injuries to his left forearm. The passenger, a 62-year-old Upland woman, was not injured.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
