Nestor Canales Dies Following Fatal Moreno Valley Car Accident on Gilman Spring Road near Bridge Street
Moreno Valley, California (August 19, 2019) – Police officers have identified one of the two victims killed in a head-on crash on Monday in Moreno Valley, as Nestor Canales,31, of Riverside. The collision occurred on August 19, on Gilman Spring Road near Bridge Street, police said
According to the California Highway Patrol, Brandon Hoffman, 27, of San Jacinto, was driving a 2004 Lexus, when it drifted across double yellow lines. The Lexus ended up in the westbound lane in the path of a 2008 Toyota Sienna driven by 52-year-old Juan Llagundo’s.
Canales, a passenger in the Lexus and a 64-year-old Los Angeles woman, seated in the front seat of the Toyota, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Seven other people were injured in the crash and were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.
Police said alcohol, drugs, and driver fatigue contributed to the accident.
The crash is still under investigation.
