Nang Arm Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Black Mountain Road in Rancho Penasquitos

Nang Arm Dies Following Fatal Rancho Penasquitos Pedestrian Accident on Black Mountain Road and Carmel Mountain Road

San Diego, California (August 27, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at around 7:07 a.m. Sunday, August 25 in the 13700 block of Black Mountain Road and Carmel Mountain Road in Rancho Penasquitos.

According to a police report, Uvelyn Nunez-Jaramillo, 20, was driving a gold 2006 Nissan Sentra southbound on Black Mountain Road when she allowed her vehicle to drift to the right and struck the curb.

Nunez-Jaramillo then continued onto the sidewalk, where she hit a fence and Arm.

Arm was taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with major injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 3:38 a.m. Monday, August 26.

Nunez-Jaramillo reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. She was later arrested and booked in the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility for DUI and hit-and-run, both felonies.

The crash remains under investigation.
