Motorcyclist Killed in Highway 237 Crash in Sunnyvale Identified

Soulsbyville Man Matthew Clements Dies in Fatal Sunnyvale Motorcycle Accident on Highway 237 near Mathilda Avenue

Sunnyvale, California (August 20, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Sunnyvale. The deadly wreck took place at around about 6:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16 in the westbound lanes of Highway 237, just east of Mathilda Avenue off-ramp.

The motorcyclist, Matthew Clements, 33, of Soulsbyville in Tuolumne County, was riding a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle on westbound Highway 237 when for an unknown reason, he rear-ended a 2004 Ford F-650.

Clements was thrown from the bike onto the roadway upon the impact.

Clements was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
