Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Big Rig on Avenue 18 1/2 in Madera County

Rider Dies in Madera County Motorcycle Accident on Avenue 18 1/2 near State Route 99

Madera County, California (August 28, 2019) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a big rig at around 10:31 a.m. Monday, August 26 on Avenue 18 1/2 near State Route 99 in Madera County.

The motorcyclist, a 50-year-old Lemoore man, was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on State Route 99 when he pulled into the path of a semi-truck.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike upon the impact and went under the third axle of the truck.

The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
