Modesto Man Robert Burket Killed in San Joaquin County Car Accident

Robert Gonzales Burket ID’d as Teenager Killed in San Joaquin County Crash on Santa Fe Road and Henry Road near Riverbank

San Joaquin County, California (August 15, 2019) – Authorities have identified the teenager who was killed Wednesday evening in a traffic collision near Burbank in San Joaquin County as Robert Gonzales Burket, 19, of Modesto.
The tragic wreck, which was reported at about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, happened on Santa Fe Road near Henry Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Burket was driving a 1992 Toyota Camry westbound on a private road when he entered Santa Fe Road and failed to yield to traffic.

Burket’s vehicle was broadsided by a 2016 International Prostar big rig, which was being driven northbound on Santa Fe Road by Glen McClure, 54, of Modesto.

The big rig then collided with a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Arnold Mata, 53, of Modesto.

Burket, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was declared dead at the scene. His passenger was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.

The other drivers were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the crash.

Alcohol and drugs were not considered factors in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
