Man Pushing Walker Struck, Killed by Car on University Heights Street in San Diego

53-Year-Old Man Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on University Heights Street near El Cajon Boulevard

San Diego, California (August 19, 2019) – A 53-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday night in San Diego, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 11:35 p.m. August 18, in the 4300 block of Texas Street, near El Cajon Boulevard.

Police said the man, who was using a walker, was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a southbound 2015 Chevrolet Cruze sedan.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died. He was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Officers said intoxication was not a factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
