Luis Amezcus, 2 Others Killed in Oakdale Crash on Oakdale-Waterford Highway
Oakdale, California (August 30, 2019) – According to a local news source, three people were killed in a car accident at about 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 on Oakdale-Waterford Highway in Oakdale.
As per the local news source report, a 2010 Chevy Camaro was heading southbound on Oakdale-Waterford Highway at a high rate of speed when it veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta that was traveling northbound.
As a result of the crash, the Jetta rolled over and came to rest on the east shoulder of the highway on its right side. The Camaro stopped in the northbound lane, facing east.
Within five minutes, witnesses said a Hyundai sedan was heading northbound on the highway and hit the right side of the Camaro. The Hyundai came to rest on the shoulder of the road and the Camaro spun out of control after the impact.
Luis Alberto Amezcus, 29, of Snelling and his passenger, a 60-year-old Parlier woman, were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Camaro was also killed.
The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were transported to a hospital. One of the men, it’s unclear which, was in critical condition and the other had life-threatening injuries.
No further details were immediately provided.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
