James Woods Jr. Killed in Motorcycle Accident on State Highway 4 in Contra Costa County

James Woods Jr. ID’d as Man Killed in State Highway 4 Motorcycle Crash in Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County, California (August 31, 2019) – The county coroner’s office has identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday morning, August 26, in Contra Costa County as 61-year-old James Woods Jr., of Rio Vista.

The fatal crash occurred just before 8:00 a.m. on State Highway 4, near Loveridge Road and the border between Pittsburg and Antioch.

Authorities said Woods Jr. was riding a motorcycle when he rear-ended a vehicle and was ejected. He was subsequently hit by a passing big-rig.

Woods Jr. was killed in the crash.

The involved drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash closed four lanes of the highway. The lanes were reopened about 10:35 a.m.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
