Police Identify One of the Drivers Killed in Los Molinos Car Accident
Los Molinos, California (August 15, 2019) – Authorities have identified one of the two drivers who were killed Tuesday night in a fiery traffic accident in Los Molinos as Colton Stout, 21, of Los Molinos.
The fatal accident occurred at about 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, August 13 on Highway 99E near Sixth Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said a Dodge Caliber was traveling erratically at a high rate of speed northbound on Highway 99E when, for some reasons, it drifted into the southbound traffic and collided head-on with a gold Saturn Ion operated by Stout.
Both vehicles caught fire after the impact. The Dodge was found overturned in the center of the roadway adjacent to the Saturn after the collision and the Saturn was in the southbound lane.
Both drivers were trapped inside their burnt cars and had to be extricated by emergency responders.
Colton and the other unidentified driver died in the accident.
No further details were immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
