Christopher Ramirez, 53, Killed in Nipomo Accident at Tefft Street and Oakglen Avenue

Nipomo, California (August 20, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Nipomo. The fatal accident happened at about 6:15 p.m. Friday, August 16 at the intersection of Tefft Street and Oakglen Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said a 29-year-old Nipomo man was driving northbound on Oakglen Avenue and had a green light when he made left onto Tefft Street and struck the pedestrian, Christopher Martin Ramirez, 53.

Ramirez was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

It was immediately unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call CHP at (805) 594-8700.
