At Least 1 Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in Humboldt County

At Least 1 Hospitalized after Humboldt County Car Accident on Highway 101 near Rio Dell

Humboldt County, California (August 19, 2019) – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident in Humboldt County. The crash occurred at about 8:11 p.m. Sunday, August 18 on Highway 101 near Rio Dell between Shively Road and N Road.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, a van collided with a Honda Pilot on Highway 101 for undetermined reasons. One of the vehicles involved was reportedly carrying a man and two children.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and rendered aid to at least one person who suffered major injuries in the crash. The patient was then transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The name and current condition of the victim were unknown.

All lanes were closed as the investigation and cleanup took place.
