3 Injured in 2-Car Crash on Highway 108 in Sonora

3 Injured, 1 Seriously after Sonora Car Accident on Highway 108 near East Avenue

Sonora, California (August 21, 2019) – Three people were injured in a traffic accident that occurred at around 5:20 p.m. Monday, August 19 on Highway 108 near East Avenue in Sonora, according to a local news source.

As per the report, a 1996 Toyota pickup driven by Denver Bedford, 34, was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 108 when the vehicle drifted into the westbound lane, where hit collided with a westbound 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by Randall Banks, 56.

A passenger in the Jeep, Mellita Cognetti, 33, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Doctor’s Medical Center.

Banks and another passenger in the Jeep, Mary Dailey, 18, both sustained minor injuries in the accident.

No further details were immediately available.
