27 Injured in Sacramento Train Accident on Marconi Avenue and Roseville Road
Sacramento, California (August 23, 2019) – Officials said several people were injured in a train accident on Thursday, August 22, around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Marconi Avenue and Roseville Road in north Sacramento.
Officials said a passenger light rail train and a maintenance train collided for unknown reasons at the intersection, west of the Winter Street light rail station.
Two people sustained moderate injuries. 25 other people sustained minor injuries.
13 of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. 14 others were treated on the scene.
The Sac RT is investigating the cause of the crash.
