Two Drivers Killed in Sutter County Crash on Hwy 99
Sutter County, California (August 22, 2019) – CHP said a fiery two-vehicle crash killed two people on Wednesday, August 21, around 4:00 p.m. in Nicolaus.
The fatal crash happened on Highway 99, south of Garden Highway.
According to the CHP, a truck was heading southbound on the highway when it veered into the northbound lane, broadsided an SUV and continued southbound. The truck went off the right-hand shoulder, where it became engulfed in flames.
Both drivers were killed in the crash. The victims’ identities have not been disclosed.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The No. 2 lane of northbound Highway 99 was closed following the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
