Man Killed, 2 Injured in Fremont Car Accident on Interstate Highway 880
Fremont, California (August 25, 2019) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a man was killed and two other people were injured in a traffic crash at around 6:36 p.m. on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont.
The deadly crash, which was reported at around 6:36 p.m., happened on northbound Interstate Highway 880 between the Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard.
The CHP said a Ford Ranger pickup truck was rear-ended by a Tesla sedan on northbound I-880 between the Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard.
A passenger in the Ranger was ejected from that vehicle upon the impact.
One man was transported to Stanford Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The other two people were taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with unspecified injuries.
It was unknown if the occupants of either vehicle wear wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
