2 Pilots Kevin Fore and Krista Holstrom Killed in Plane crash near Eagle Lake in Lassen County
Two pilots killed in a plane crash in Lessen County identified as Redding residents.
Lassen County, California – The two pilots who were killed in a plane crash were identified as Kevin Fore, 45 and Krista Holstrom, 35; both are residents of Redding.
According to the Lassen County Sheriff’s official statement, the pilot couple took off from Redding Airport to Susanville Airport for a day trip to have lunch with family members.
However, on their way back to Redding Airport, at around 12:55 pm on August 15, their single-engine PA 14 airplane went down near Eagle Lake.
The engine of the airplane stalled when the couple was flying at about 600 feet, and the left-wing dipped towards the ground causing the plane to crash, killing both pilots.
Authorities found the plane severely damaged between two paved runways in a dirt patch. Kevin and Krista were declared dead at the scene.
The crash investigation has been taken over by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Avionics Administration (FAA).
The incident remains under their investigation.
