Two People Injured in Kearny Mesa Plane Crash near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport

Kearny Mesa, California – A Kearny Mesa plane crash that happened just north of Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport on Thursday afternoon, two people were injured according to the authorities.

Just before 4:30 pm, the flight-trainer biplane, a Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 crashed into a parking lot in the 8600 block of Balboa Avenue for unknown reasons.

Emergency crews rushed to the accident site and transported two people to Sharp Memorial Hospital sustaining unspecified injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
