Two Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Crows Landing Road in Modesto
Modesto, California – Following a Modesto DUI accident that occurred on Crows Landing Road, two people were killed according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 24-year-old man from Modesto was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup northbound, while at the same time a 2010 Lexus IS 250 sedan and a 2008 Suzuki Vitara Compact SUV was traveling southbound.
The driver of the Chevy lost control and drifted into southbound lanes direct into the path of the Lexus, colliding head-on.
Due to the impact of the crash, the Lexus was pushed off the west side of the road and burst into flames.
Meanwhile, the Chevy remained in the southbound lane, where the Suzuki’s front end hit its left side.
The Lexus driver was declared dead at the accident scene however the Chevy driver was declared dead while undergoing treatment at Memorial Medical Center.
The Suzuki driver, Neida Rivas-Ramirez, 21, of Modesto was saved as was wearing a seatbelt during the accident.
The names of the deceased were not revealed pending notification of the families.
CHP stated that intoxication played the factor in the accident, but an investigation is ongoing.
