Pilot Fighting Wildfire Killed in Fresno County Helicopter Crash on Wednesday Morning
Fresno County, California – A pilot who was on a water-dropping mission to fight the wildfire died in a helicopter crash. The crash occurred around 11 miles south of the New Coalinga Municipal Airport on Wednesday morning.
According to the authorities, the pilot was the only person on board when the Bell UH-1H Helicopter crashed at around 10 am on August 19.
The identity of the pilot who died in the accident was not known and the crash also occurred for unknown reasons.
This crash is under investigation by The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
