Man Dies, 2 Hospitalized after Pacifica Car Accident on Highway 1 and Manor Drive

Pacifica, California (January 16, 2020) – One man killed and two other people were hospitalized early Thursday morning after a wrong-way car accident in Pacifica, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened shortly before 3:10 a.m. on Highway 1 and Manor Drive.

According to the CHP, a man in his 20s was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on Highway 1 when for an unknown reason, he allowed his Charger to veer into the southbound lane, where it collided with a Mercedes that was traveling southbound.

The driver of the Charger died in the crash. A woman who was riding as a passenger in the Charger was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the Mercedes was also taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police closed all lanes of Highway 1 following the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
