Man Dies, 2 Hospitalized after Silver Lake Scooter Accident on North Silver Lake Boulevard

Silver Lake, California (June 18, 2020) – One person was killed and two others injured in a scooter accident on Wednesday morning in Silver Lake, according to police.

At about 10:30 a.m., on June 17, the authorities responded to the deadly crash in the 1600 block of North Silver Lake Boulevard.

A dark-colored SUV was reportedly traveling on North Silver Lake Boulevard at about 75 miles per hour when, for unknown reasons, it struck a man riding a Vespa-type scooter.

The SUV driver then lost control of the vehicle, and the SUV struck a tree before smashing into the front of the newly reopened L&E Oyster Bar.  The SUV then overturned onto its side, said the officials.

The speeding SUV was swerving into opposing lanes of traffic to pass other vehicles before the accident.

The unidentified scooter rider was pronounced dead at the dead at the scene.

A 72-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were taken to a hospital with major injuries.

Silver Lake Boulevard was temporarily closed due to the accident.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that car accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
