One Killed, One Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident on 405 Freeway near Getty Center Drive

Los Angeles, California (February 16, 2020) – One person was killed and another was injured early Sunday morning in a wrong-way car accident in the Bel-Air area, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

Just before 2:30 a.m., the CHP received a report regarding the accident on the 405 Freeway, just north of Getty Center Drive.

A flatbed truck was heading the wrong way in the northbound lanes of the freeway when it collided with a Jaguar, the CHP report states.

The driver of the Jaguar was killed in the crash. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The truck driver was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities said alcohol played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
